Luchetti True-Flat™ Sketchbook - 8" Square

I've been searching for a high quality, durable sketchbook like this for some time! The paper is thick, has a lovely texture and I love the "lay flat" feature! I will certainly be taking this on a future trip!

I love my new Luchetti True Flat sketchbook. The paper is very thick, really stays flat and I can paint on the front and the back side of each sheet with no problems.

The paper is wonderful! I did washes and added multiple layers of color. I was also able to easily lift color. The size is a bit intimidating, but now that I've completed a full-page painting, I'm excited to do more!

I am on my second Luchetti sketchbook using mostly watercolors and ink. The gutterless binding works perfectly. No bleed through onto other pages. Coming from A4 sketchbooks I wasn’t sure about the square 8”” x 8” format. However it hasn’t been a problem. The CP cotton paper has a nice texture, but maybe it could have a bit more sizing. I have not tried a very wet edge to edge very wet wash to see how the laminated pages hold up. I miss a back pocket for my random ephemera, but again not really a problem if you want a lay flat book. Overall a strong 9.5/10.

I finally own not one but two Luchettis! Within hours I started the journey to capture my art. So luxurious and such high quality. Will certainly buy more. One day I hope to see watercolour blocks of such high quality too! I am such a fan. Thank you!

Had stopped using a sketchbook and I was painting directly on large panels ; then my inspiration departed after many years . The Luchetti sketch book is so gorgeous I was inspired . I began to draw right away. I soon realized that I had a skill that I was not using and I am creating one drawing with pencils and prisms colors in the sketchbook. It is a unique series that comes from my unique mind.

Wow! The paper is fantastic, the design of the book is amazing and the presentation simply beautiful!

100% Cotton Hotpress Paper at 640gsm - 300lb is difficult to find in stores, & honestly, you have to special order it. Until recently, finding it in a sketchbook has been totally impossible and frustrating. Leave it to the Luchetti Family, good-old country Paisans, to show the common sense to provide Artists with what they truly need.

I am so happy I could explode, and often do, with joy, when I open my sketchbook and feel this QUALITY in every aspect of this product. This is EXACTLY what I want.

More Sizes in portrait and landscape orientations is the only ask I have anymore. 100% Cotton, Hot Press Paper Every other product on the shelves everywhere you go is 140lb Coldpress, useless for adding pen or pencil work. Mixed media paper buckles. You NEED 640 gsm 300Lb. 100% Cotton HOT PRESS Paper to work with Graphite, Watercolor Pencils and lots of wet media altogether. This lets you do it right in your happy little sketchbook environment!

Hotpress Paper at 300lb is difficult to find in stores and until recently close to being impossible to find in a sketch book. I have been stalking the Luchetti books for awhile and decided it was time to buy.

My very first page after drawing in it I knew I would be able to produce works that were similar than my other projects done on hotpress and I honestly forgot that it was lay flat while I was drawing. I went to my first sketch club meet up and everybody knew it by name but hadn’t seen it I.

This is well worth the price and I can see the personal pride from the packaging and the way it was shipped. Thank you so much for making my dream sketchbook! Look forward to ordering more.

I create illustrations both professionally and for myself, and this paper has completely changed how I view my materials. I don't feel held back by the potential of warping or limiting myself from going over gutters, it's just a solid substrate from start to finish. That, and the book itself is beautiful and a pleasure to bring with me. The smaller size is wonderful for traveling and tucking in a small bag. Thank you for making this sketchbook! It has, unfortunately and fortunately, spoiled me and I will find it very difficult to use anything else. <3

Love the 8 x 8” sketchbook! It came through with everything promised. Easy for plein aire painting as well. I highly recommend this lovely sketchbook.

I love my 8x8" sketchbook. It just traveled with me to Austria on a painting trip and fit all my needs. The pages take a lot of water/washes and handling for watercolor "rub out" effects. I have just ordered another. Great customer service too. The book arrives beautifully packed too.

I love how this paper feels when I paint. Mistakes, smudges, and painting...all works well on this paper. It holds up to everything. LOVE it!

Great sketchbook. Love the weight and quality of paper, and of course, the lay flat ability is awesome. The only thing about the paper to be aware of, is that, because of its weight and thickness ink will not dry quickly. I normally have been working with a fountain pen and carbon brand waterproof black ink, adding watercolor fairly soon afterwards. Never had any ink bleed problem with lesser quality sketchbooks, but have experienced ink bleed with these. --(I am normally working quickly, so I have not experimented with how long it takes it to fully dry in this book.) Btw-- this is in the large "Cold Press" book. I have purchased the Hot Press book, but haven't started it yet.

Using them as art journals

I absolutely love this sketchbook! The thickness of the paper is a dream to work with!!! The texture is fun and I find myself using various mediums together, with many layers!!! The cover is just beautiful too!!! This is my first ever really nice watercolor sketchbook and now I am spoiled!!! How can I ever go back to anything else!!! Thank you 🙏🏾 ✨❤️

Obsessed with this sketchbook... absolutely the only thing I want to paint in.

I’ve recently been painting in two of Luchetti’s lay-flat watercolor books with 300 lb paper, and they have completely spoiled me. I genuinely look forward to opening them and painting—they feel that special. They’re the art-supply equivalent of a cashmere sweater, a glass of fine wine… only surprisingly affordable. The thick paper, beautiful construction, and lay-flat design make every painting session feel luxurious. These books turn an ordinary evening of painting into an occasion. I will be purchasing more! These have raised the bar!
